The questions I hear most often in regards to joining the Iowa Bowhunters Association are “What is the IBA?” “What does the IBA do for me?” “What do I get for my money?” All valid questions. Nobody wants to pay for something that is overpriced for the value.
My reply has always been the IBA does a lot of charitable giving, publishes a magazine, helps fund the Iowa Archery in Schools program (NASP) but most importantly we give every bowhunter in Iowa a voice. Through us, you have a voice that will be heard at every branch and every level of Government. From the Governor’s office, to the Senate and House of Representatives chambers and the DNR headquarters in the Wallace State Office building; we are there for you.
Your membership dues ensure our philanthropic endeavors continue, your dues ensure youth are introduced to archery and bow hunting, your dues ensure your magazine continues to be published and most importantly your dues ensure your voice is heard loud and clear when it comes to bowhunting in Iowa.
My questions to a hunter thinking about joining the IBA or a member that is renewing is “Do you like the hunting seasons as they are now? Do you have enough opportunity to hunt? Do you like the number of deer and turkeys you see? Do you like the age structure of the deer herd? Do you like seeing youth introduced to bowhunting?” If you answered yes to any of the questions then is it worth the cost of your yearly dues to maintain and improve bowhunting in Iowa?
In the end it is up to you to decide, but it is my hope that you join all of us in the IBA who say “The IBA is my voice and let it be heard loud and clear”.
Help us help you. Join the IBA or renew your membership today.
